My favorite Casio “beater”, the GW-M5610U-1ER, deserved something extra, and mostly for comfort. After some searching I found a really nice, heavy-duty, 24 mm, black nato-strap with red edges that would match the thin red frame on the dial (try ebbsen.dk). It would also match the black/red colors that I use on most of the things that I 3D-print for my synth and other “maker” activities. (BTW: The strap is a normal double type, but can easily be modified for single pass (as I prefer here) if you seal the cutting with a medium-hot soldering iron).
The only challenge was how to fix the strap to the watch. I bought a set of “rubber”-adaptors, but I found that they were too bulky and long. Then I found a 3D-design on Thingiverse that looked really good. I printed it, but after a month or two the thin pin going under the strap broke where it meets the corner of the upper part.
I could not find a metal version anywhere, so I made a printed pair looking a bit like the ones from Thingiverse. I made it wider on the upper visible part, and with a thicker pin under the strap. At the same time I made it a two color print (red and black), and in PLA so that it could be easily polished after printing. I have been wearing it now for half a year without anything falling off. The gcode is right here:
